THE FLUTTER COLLECTION
In November 2018, Dark Horse Comics published the entire Flutter saga in a single volume. Dark Horse’s The Flutter Collection includes volumes one through three, and features the work of artist Jeff McComsey, colorist Chris Goodwin, and editor Jeff McClelland. This collected edition also features a foreword by Erica Schultz, an afterword by Jennie, and additional pages not found in the single volumes or anywhere else.
VOLUME 1: HELL CAN WAIT – Fifteen year-old Lily shape-shifts into a boy to get the girl. Chaos ensues from pretending to be someone she’s not. While coming to terms with who she really is and what she’s done, Lily learns that life as a boy is just as difficult.
VOLUME 2: DON’T LET ME DIE NERVOUS – In Vol. 2, Lily learns that even a 15 year-old shape-shifter can’t run away from her problems. With her loved ones in danger, she returns to St. Charles to live as Jesse and protect them. But knowing what she’s capable of, can Lily be content as a popular high school varsity quarterback?
Ahead of Vol. 2 ’s release, Jennie launched a Flutter Kickstarter campaign in order to raise enough funds to expand the distribution of the Flutter series. At its conclusion, the campaign received over $10,000 in pledges from 244 backers.
VOLUME 3: RID OF ME – In Vol. 3, while shapeshifting, Lily gets stuck in a body, but not just any body – her mother’s. Forced to see the world through the eyes of her estranged mother, Lily must accept that she’ll never live a “normal life” in order to fulfill her true destiny.
Due to the overwhelming success of the 2015 Flutter, Vol. 2 Kickstarter campaign, on September 12, 2016, Jennie launched a new Flutter Kickstarter campaign for Vol. 3 in order to raise printing funds to help with the series’ continued distribution into comic shops in 2017. This successful Kickstarter ran through October 14, 2016, and featured a collected omnibus edition of all three volumes in the Flutter series. Both Vol. 2 & 3 Kickstarter campaigns combined received over $20,000 in pledges.
Just like the first two volumes, Vol. 3 is a 100+ page, full color graphic novel. Published on October 21, 2017 by 215 Ink, Vol. 3 is the final volume in the graphic novel sci-fi series.
